The WGA Schedule of Minimums is a fairly lengthy and involved matrix that spells out the minimum purchase price or fees paid for a given literary asset or assignment depending on a variety of factors (means of distribution (i.e.: full feature versus television), if it’s a low or high budget, if it’s original material, etc.). Note: Low Budget refers to projects with production budgets less than $5,000,000. High Budget covers all production budgets over $5,000,000.

The writer is to receive 10% upon commencement of writing services and best efforts are to be made to pay the balance within 48 hours of delivery but no later than seven days after delivery.
A “professional writer” is defined as any writer who has negotiated the right to be treated as a “professional writer.”
